The beginning of this collection was the Domestika course – Illustrated Portrait in Watercolor by the famous artist Ana Santos. Her creative collages combine my favorite techniques: traditional watercolor and digital Photoshop. That’s why I was curious about how to create them.

First step is to get some inspiration. This process turned out to be very personalized. For each portrait, I wanted to choose the right elements and colors that would symbolically reflect the nature of my characters. Hence the title of the gallery: a combination of the words soul and solution. Then I painted individual elements with watercolors: figure, fauna and flora motifs and abstract textures. Creating each of them separately gives a lot of freedom and space for making mistakes. The next step is to combine the watercolor illustrations into creative collages in Photoshop. Thanks to the flexibility of this tool, we can experiment endlessly with our composition. I created the illustrations inspired by anonymous portraits, but also at the request of people close to me.
