Artist Photography in Genoa
Jackson Villamizar – Sculptor
Some collaborations grow quietly over time. Not just around a single session, but through years of observing, creating, and evolving together. This artist photography in Genoa is part of a longer story — one that follows not only exhibitions, but the process behind the work.
Jackson Villamizar is an artist whose journey moves between cultures, materials, and disciplines. Born in Colombia and raised in Italy, he developed his artistic voice through drawing, ceramics, music, and theatre. His work today is deeply rooted in experimentation and transformation.
Documenting an Artistic Process
My role was not only to photograph finished pieces, but to follow the evolution of Jackson’s work — sculptures inspired by origami, transformed through layers of resin and controlled oxidation into solid, metal-like forms. Fragility becomes structure. Paper becomes something permanent. This is what I focus on in artist photography in Genoa: not just the object, but the intention behind it.
Over time, I accompanied Jackson during several important exhibitions, including:
-
Artroom, 2024
- Art Expo Trieste, 2024
-
Arte Genova, 2025
-
Alchemia della Forma at Between Art & Design Atelier, 2025
- Metamorfosi at Museo della Ceramica di Albissola, 2026
Being present across these events allowed me to document not only the artworks, but also how they live in space — how people interact with them, how light changes their texture, how they become part of a larger narrative.
From Studio to Recognition
Photographing an artist over time creates something deeper than a single session. It becomes a visual archive of growth, consistency, and vision. One of the images from this collaboration became the cover of Art & Art Magazine — a moment that reflects not only the strength of Jackson’s work, but also the importance of thoughtful, intentional photography in presenting art.
As a photographer, I approach each project individually. Whether I work with artists, creatives, or small brands, I adapt to your rhythm and your process. Because strong images are not only about aesthetics — they are about understanding.
That is what artist photography in Genoa means to me: creating images that support your work, your presence, and your story.
